Due Dec. 16 (by email)

Please analyze your own ethics as practiced in one or several journalistic assignments completed in the past four years. What ethical decisions were you forced to make? How did you make them? What ethical junctures did you simply ignore? Why? What would you do differently now?

Please integrate your answers to the questions above into a wider discussion of how UMass’ liberal arts curriculum (and the GenEd program in particular) has contributed to your development as a journalist. What specific GenEd courses that you have taken at UMass have had the biggest impact on how you think of yourself as a journalist, an American, a world citizen – and a good/ethical person? Has any GenEd course taught you a lesson that informed the ethical decisions you are discussing in this paper?
